The Guinean international secured a 3-2 victory for his team against Villarreal.

It was a night of contrasts for Serhou Guirassy at Iduna Park on 8 September. On the opening day of the Champions League, the Guinean striker made his mark with a sensational brace before scoring an unfortunate own goal in the dying moments of the match.

With Dortmund and Villarreal level at 1–1 in the second half, Serhou Guirassy found the back of the net to put Borussia Dortmund 2–1 ahead in the 80th minute. The 30-year-old Guinean came on in the 85th minute to convert a penalty, taking the score to 3–1.

Despite this impressive performance, the end of the match proved somewhat unfortunate for Serhou Guirassy. The Guinean striker scored an own goal in stoppage time, allowing Villarreal to narrow the gap to 3–2 before the final whistle.

Borussia Dortmund nevertheless secured victory thanks to their Guinean striker’s brace. With these two goals, Serhou Guirassy has got his Champions League campaign off to a flying start.
