The team's medical staff has decided not to risk their captain's health, given the packed tournament schedule and Dhoni's importance in the final stages of the season.
The iconic skipper's absence is due to a calf injury from which he is still recovering. Despite the medical team's best efforts, Dhoni is all but certain to miss the home fixture.
