The memory of Diogo Jota may soon be honored on the virtual pitch as well.
Details: According to insider FutSheriff, EA Sports is considering including Diogo Jota as a Hero card in EA FC 27.
For now, this is just an option being discussed by the developers—there's no final confirmation that such a card will appear in the game.
Hero cards in the EA FC series are traditionally dedicated to footballers who have left a significant mark on the history of clubs and competitions. In Jota's case, such a gesture by EA Sports would be another meaningful way to honor the memory of the Portuguese star.
As a reminder, Diogo Jota tragically passed away on July 3, 2025. Later, Liverpool permanently retired the number 20 jersey, under which the Portuguese forward played for the club.
It's worth noting that Diogo Jota began his professional career at Paços de Ferreira, then moved to Atlético, and spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Porto. In 2017, the Portuguese striker signed with Wolverhampton, where he played 131 matches and scored 44 goals over three seasons. In the summer of 2020, he joined Liverpool. For the Merseyside club, Jota made 182 appearances across all competitions and netted 65 goals, winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, and two English League Cups. In total, Jota played 395 official club matches and scored 133 goals. For the Portugal national team, the forward represented his country from 2019 to 2025, scoring 14 goals in 49 matches and winning the Nations League twice— in 2019 and 2025.
