A Barcelona forward took a pay cut for the sake of the club
Barcelona is currently facing challenges with financial fair play regulations, making it difficult for them to register new players.
As Barcelona's sporting director Joan Laporta explained, striker Robert Lewandowski performed a commendable act.
"Lewandowski, I have a special mention for him. He is a player deeply committed to the club. When he heard that we needed to make certain efforts to register players under fair play regulations, he told us he could reduce his contract to help the club," said Laporta.
It’s worth noting that on August 9th, Barcelona announced the signing of RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, but his name did not appear on the La Liga website until much later. The Catalans were only able to register the Spanish footballer on August 27th.
The financial difficulties of the Catalan club were the primary obstacle to registering the former RB Leipzig midfielder.
Additionally, Barcelona's sporting director Joan Laporta spoke about the tense relationship between the Catalan club and Real Madrid.
