76 goals in four games! Bayern keep up their most ruthless tradition
Bayern are sticking to a tradition that has become an integral part of their summer preparations.
Details: In their latest friendly, the Munich giants left no chance for amateur side Rottach-Egern, thrashing them 15-0 and once again highlighting the enormous gulf in class.
This was Bayern’s fifth visit to the small commune of just 5,500 residents. Despite the hosts’ modest status, the fixture always draws a crowd of local fans who pack the compact stadium, famous for its giant inflatable beer bottle behind one of the goals.
Over their last four friendlies against Rottach-Egern, Bayern have racked up an astonishing 76 goals. Prior to this latest rout, the scorelines read 14-1 in 2024, 27-0 in 2023, and 20-2 in 2018. This time, the home side conceded "only" 15 goals—a tally kept in check largely due to the absence of several Bayern stars, including Harry Kane, Luis Díaz, and Michael Olise.
For the German powerhouse, these matches have long been a staple of pre-season, while for Rottach-Egern it’s a rare chance to face one of Europe’s elite and offer their supporters a true football festival.
