€60 million and a record transfer! Real Madrid discovers talent in the Netherlands
José Mourinho is already eyeing a versatile reinforcement for Real Madrid's midfield.
Details: According to journalist José Félix Díaz, the Madrid club is closely monitoring AZ midfielder Kees Smit.
Mourinho wants players with a profile similar to Bernardo Silva in his squad. The Portuguese manager has been particularly impressed by Smit’s versatility — the Dutchman is capable of playing multiple roles across the midfield.

The potential deal could cost Real around €60 million. Moreover, such a transfer fee would set a new record for Dutch football.
At this stage, however, there have been no concrete moves regarding a possible transfer — Real Madrid are simply continuing to scout the player.
It's worth noting that Smit remains a key player for AZ, wearing the number ten shirt. In May 2026, he was named the breakout star of the Conference League season: in ten matches, the midfielder provided five assists.
Reminder: Real are considering an offer: Madrid propose their goalkeeper to a top club.
