Chinese weightlifter Luo Shifang won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in the 59 kg weight category, setting several Olympic records in the process.

The Chinese athlete lifted 107 kg in the snatch and 134 kg in the clean and jerk, both of which are new Olympic records. Additionally, her total lifted weight of 241 kg also set a new Olympic record.

The silver medal went to Canadian Maude Charron, who lifted a total of 236 kg. The bronze medal was claimed by Tokyo 2020 champion Kuo Hsing-Chun from Chinese Taipei, who lifted 235 kg.

Notably, at the 2023 World Weightlifting Championships in Saudi Arabia, Luo Shifang won the world title with a total of 243 kg in the 59 kg category.
