The young Stallions dominated the U20 the Sparrowhawks in Group B of the tournament currently taking place in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.

Facing the Togolese side, the young Burkinabés held their ground. They took control right from the start of the match at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro. The Burkina Faso U20 national team got off to a flying start, with their dominance paying off in the opening minutes.

Mohamed Zongo opened the scoring for the U20 Stallions in the 2nd minute, making it 1–0. However, Togo’s response was not long in coming. Jordan Tokanou scored the equaliser for Togo in the 15th minute, making it 1–1.

The turning point of the match came in the second half. Sévérin Komi put the Stallions ahead in the 49th minute, 2–1, before Narcisse Abdoul Ouédraogo sealed the victory in the 79th minute, 3–1.

Burkina Faso’s U20 national team have thus secured a valuable victory in the race to qualify for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
