2027 AFCON Qualifier: Uganda Hold Tunisia to 1-1 Draw in Radès

Uganda held Tunisia to a 1-1 draw in Radès to claim one of the notable results of the evening in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The hosts made a bright start under new head coach Mouine Chaâbani, taking the lead in the 12th minute through Adem Arous.

Uganda refused to let the early setback affect their performance and remained competitive as the game progressed.

Their persistence eventually paid off in the 68th minute when Rogers Mato found the equaliser to earn the Cranes a valuable draw away from home.

The result will provide a boost to Paul Put’s side as they continue their preparations for the 2027 AFCON tournament, which Uganda will co-host with Kenya and Tanzania.

Uganda have already secured their place at the finals as one of the host nations.
