2027 AFCON Qualifier: Moses Usor Reveals Moses Simon’s Advice Before Super Eagles Debut

Moses Usor has revealed how advice from fellow Super Eagles winger Moses Simon helped him settle into his Nigeria debut against Madagascar.

Usor was handed his first appearance for the Super Eagles after receiving his maiden call-up to the national team, and he made an immediate impact by scoring the winning goal in Nigeria’s 2-1 comeback victory in Uyo.

The forward came on in the second half with the game level and eventually found the decisive goal in the 65th minute.

Speaking about his debut, Usor explained that Simon encouraged him to play with confidence and take on defenders whenever the opportunity presented itself.

"I was warming up with Moses Simon. When they called me, we went in together, and he was telling me, 'Just play your game and be yourself. If you have the ball and you want to go one-on-one, go, take the risk.' So he gave me that mindset to play the game, and I just took the mentality of taking risks because football is all about taking risks. So I took that mentality and went there to play my game. So that is it, nothing else, just to play the game. I was still surprised, saying, 'This is a dream,' because for me to play at this level, I think it's a big dream.”
