2025 Arab Cup – Playoffs: Mauritania will not play in the final tournament

The Mourabitounes were eliminated by Kuwait (0-2) this Tuesday at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha. The Kuwaitis thus join Group C alongside Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.

In the 8th minute, Mohammad Daham opened the scoring with a well-placed shot. Mauritania then suffered a second blow in the 23rd minute when Nouh Mohamed El Abd inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net.

After the break, the Mourabitounes tried to respond, making substitutions, but without managing to trouble the Kuwaiti defense. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.

Kuwait thus wins 2-0 and continues its adventure in the competition, while Mauritania stops at the play-offs.
