Paralympics 2024: Final Medal Table
The 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, France, have come to a close.
During this period, athletes competed in 22 sports, contesting for 549 sets of medals—significantly more than the 329 awarded at the Olympics.
A total of 184 nations were represented at the Paralympics. Athletes from China emerged as the dominant force in the medal table, with an impressive tally of 216 medals, including 94 gold, 73 silver, and 49 bronze. They pulled far ahead of their competitors.
Great Britain claimed second place, while the United States rounded out the top three.
Remarkably, the top three positions mirrored those of the previous Games, and once again, the Netherlands secured fourth place. Italy completed the top five. Interestingly, athletes ranked fourth and below earned fewer total medals than China did in gold alone.
The top ten teams also included athletes from Brazil, Ukraine, France, Australia, and Japan.
