Transfer rumors swirling around Real Madrid have taken an unexpected turn.
Details: The reports in the media claiming that Los Blancos made a staggering €150 million offer for Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez are now being dismissed as nothing more than a “phantom bid.” According to Mundo Deportivo, this was purely a tactical maneuver.
In reality, the top transfer priority for the Spanish giants remains Bayern Munich and France national team winger Michael Olise. Reports indicate that Real only expressed interest in Álvarez after the German powerhouse’s management flatly refused to enter any negotiations over Olise’s sale.
The Madrid side used the rumors about the Argentine forward to relieve media pressure and demonstrate that they have alternative options to strengthen their attack.
Despite Bayern’s tough stance, Real Madrid hasn’t given up hope of landing the French winger and is planning to seal the deal right after the World Cup. The Spanish superclub’s representatives have already made initial moves, establishing direct contact with both Michael Olise and his agents.
Reminder: Real have put their defender Álvaro Carreras up for transfer.
