£14 Million Fine Looms Over Real Madrid Due to Nightclub Delay
Real Madrid might have to pay £14 million in legal fees because the fancy "Sky Bar" at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium hasn't opened yet. The bar, which is on the top level of the stadium, was finished six months ago, but it still isn't open.
The "Sky Bar" is a part of the stadium's big £860 million makeover, which took five years and increased the stadium's size to hold 85,000 people. The reason for the delay is a disagreement between Real Madrid and the company, Anastasia Gourmeh, that was supposed to run the bar.
Citing the club's refusal to open the facility and its interference with peaceful use, the firm is requesting €16.5 million in compensation. Anastasia Gourmeh is also having financial issues, as evidenced by her €7 million in arrears to suppliers like as Heineken and Schweppes.
With seating for about 200 people and intentions to function as a nightclub, the opulent "Sky Bar" was supposed to have a restaurant, bar, nightclub, and beverage display space. The postponement comes after previous legal challenges concerning local residents' noise complaints about cancelled performances in September.
