The head of Brighton's scouting department, Sam Jewell, is transitioning to a corresponding role at Chelsea, as announced by the club's official website.

Brighton has granted Jewell a leave of absence until the end of the season, as he has already accepted the offer from the London club and will commence his duties with the new team from the summer onward.

Jewell becomes the 11th individual in the past two years to move from Brighton to Chelsea. Previously, the Londoners lured away coach Graham Potter along with his entire coaching staff from Brighton. Chelsea has also acquired goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, left-back Marc Cucurella, and central midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

In the current season, Brighton occupies the seventh position in the English Premier League, whereas Chelsea is presently placed tenth.
