€1 billion release clause: Gavi and Barcelona agree on new contract

Barcelona has already secured new contracts for Ronald Araújo and Pedri, and now it’s Gavi’s turn.
Details: According to insider Xavi Torres, an oral agreement has been reached between the sporting director and Gavi’s representatives. The new contract will run until June 2031 and will include a release clause of €1 billion.
Hansi Flick has become the second coach in Barcelona’s history to reach 100 goals with the team under his management. Flick’s Barcelona achieved this milestone in just 32 matches.
Reminder: Since joining Barcelona, Wojciech Szczęsny initially struggled to compete with Iñaki Peña. It wasn’t until late 2024 that the Polish goalkeeper made his debut for Flick’s team, leaving a strong impression on the German coach.
Barcelona scored their 100th goal under Flick in a 7-1 victory against Valencia last Sunday. Barça scored 58 goals in La Liga, 26 in the Champions League, 9 came in Spanish Cup matches and another 7 in the Super Cup.
