A violent clash between rival football ultras from Estudiantes and Gimnasia erupted inside a hospital in La Plata on Tuesday, leaving six people injured. The confrontation began earlier in the city center, near Plaza San Martín, during a government event where both factions crossed paths.

The tension escalated at the corner of 14th and 36th streets, where Fernando Nicolás Sanconi, a Gimnasia supporter, was stabbed in the leg, according to TN. He was rushed to San Roque Hospital by fellow fans. Minutes later, around 200 individuals arrived at the hospital in vehicles to continue the violence.

Security cameras captured the moment the group stormed the facility with guns, clubs, and even axes. “They hit my husband with an axe,” one witness told local media. The incident unfolded in front of hospital staff and patients, many of whom dove to the ground to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.

Among the wounded was Cristian “El Volador” Camilleri, leader of Gimnasia’s supporters’ group, who sustained multiple stab wounds. Police recovered an abandoned Fiat Uno at the scene and opened an investigation. Prosecutor Gonzalo Petit Bosnic is leading the case as tensions between the city’s rival factions show no signs of cooling down.
