The team is actually starting the preparations for next season. The current one was a de facto failure – it seems that “the Burgundy and Blues” have just celebrated too long. They became Turkish champions in 2022 – for the 7th time in their history and for the first time since 1984. Then the team unconditionally dominated in the Süper Lig. Where did everything go after the summer holidays? Having nothing special in the European competitions (a defeat in the Champions League qualification made by Copenhagen, the 3rd place in the Europa League group and the end of the “torments” after losing to Basel at the 1/16 stage in the Conference League), the titleholder showed extremely mediocre results in the national championship. The management decided to replace the coach when the team flew out of the Turkish Cup. It seemed that there was an interest in Cherchesov, but Bjelica was invited finally. Nenad started with defeats, and only the match against Ankaragücü brought a victory.

The club returned to the top division of the country in 2020 – it had not been possible to break through so high since the mid-80s. “The Black and Reds” manage to stay in the middle of the Süper Lig table. The club would like to achieve more than the 8th place of the previous season, and that’s why Andrea Pirlo was invited. There are enough Italians in the squad, who are quite well-known – Bertolacci, Ricci, Biraschi and, that is the most important, Borini, a forward, who scored two dozen goals, and experienced goalkeeper, Viviano, who defended the gates in half of the matches. Frankly speaking, other legionnaires are more than enough, from Ozdoev to Caulker, who was the hope of Liverpool in defence once. The results, however, are modest as for the set of the higher mentioned stars – the team is hanging around the so-called “equator” of the table again.

Trabzonspor won three times in 2021. Speaking about the previous year, Fatih Karagümrük took a draw, and then, in December, finally won, moreover, that was a success with a 4-1 score.
Predictions
Bookmakers consider Trabzonspor, which will play at the home arena, to be the favourite of the following battle. Still, both middle-class clubs really have nothing to fight for at the end of the season. Thus, we bet on neutral “total: over 2.5” (odd: 1.71).
