On May 13, at the Arena Garibaldi – Stadio Romeo Anconetani, the 34th round of Italy's Serie B will feature a clash between Pisa and Cremonese. For this match, I'm offering predictions on goals, cards, and the winner.
Pisa
The team has been on a long journey toward its goal: finally returning to Serie A, a league they haven't graced for nearly three and a half decades since their relegation in 1991. There have been tough stretches since, but in recent times they've made several pushes to break back into Italy’s top flight. Last season, however, was a major disappointment: with 46 points, Pisa finished 13th.
Following that, the club's management made a pivotal move in the summer by luring Filippo Inzaghi to the managerial post. And once again, Pippo proved there’s no one better at leading teams out of Serie B. His stint hasn’t been without setbacks, but he achieved promotion ahead of schedule! Already in celebration mode, they lost to Bari and drew 3-3 with Südtirol.
Cremonese
The club accomplished what their rivals are celebrating now a couple of years earlier. In 2022, after a quarter-century absence, they too returned to Serie A. However, their stay was short-lived, as they were relegated the very next spring. Despite having a chance to bounce back—finishing fourth in Serie B in 2024—they fell short in the promotion playoffs.
Giovanni Stroppa kept his job and is now preparing his side for another playoff campaign. Second place is already out of reach, but they’re also safe from dropping into mid-table. Most recently, they edged out Spezia 3-2 on the road.
Match facts
- Pisa haven’t won in their last two rounds
- On average, Pisa score 1.62 goals and concede 0.97 per match
- Cremonese are unbeaten in their last twelve matches
H2H
Last season, Cremonese had the upper hand: a scoreless draw away and a home victory. Pisa responded with a spirited away win in January.
Pisa vs Cremonese Prediction
Bookmakers see the long-unbeaten visitors as favorites. Back Cremonese, but with a "0" handicap (odds – 1.65).
