The team plays again at a pretty mediocre level, which does not match with its common tasks. In this context, it is noteworthy to mention that a lot was written about this season in the winter – it would be the last year for Diego Simeone in Madrid. The idea was officially and tacitly refuted by both the Argentine specialist and the representatives of “the Mattress Makers”. But the lasting troubles with the game are more than obvious. In the autumn, the grandee finished its performance in the Champions League group only in the 4th place. It seems that this fact allowed all efforts to be concentrated on the inner arena. Instead, “the Cholo Team” continues to “limp”. It was unable to win the battle against the division’s newcomer, Almeria. As a result, the team has got only 28 points – there have never been so few points in a dozen years with the Argentine coach!
