Last season, Frosinone captured the hearts of Serie A fans worldwide, but despite their efforts, they were unable to stay in Italy’s top flight. The team, coached by Eusebio Di Francesco, lost 0-1 to Udinese in the final round, while Empoli snatched a last-second victory over Roma to overtake the "Yellow and Blues." However, this season we will see a very different team, as Frosinone relied heavily on loaned players last year, most of whom have since returned to their respective clubs. Di Francesco has now taken the reins at Venezia in Serie A.
This summer, Frosinone once again assembled a nearly new squad through loans, and Vincenzo Vivarini, formerly of Catanzaro, was appointed as head coach. In pre-season friendlies, Frosinone lost 0-2 to Lazio, beat Potenza 1-0, fell in a thrilling 3-4 match against Bari, and defeated Greek side Volos 3-0.
Pisa
Pisa had a disappointing previous season, finishing 13th in Serie B, narrowly avoiding the relegation playoff zone by just three points. Given that the club's management aims for at least a playoff finish to compete for promotion to Serie A, such results were far from satisfactory. Pisa had a chance to secure a top-8 finish, but a late-season slump of five winless matches derailed their campaign.
During the summer, Pisa hired the legendary Filippo Inzaghi as head coach. The former AC Milan striker has had success coaching in Serie B but has struggled to establish himself at a Serie A club, notably failing last season with Salernitana.
