Bournemouth, by contrast, have found their stride, are defending well and head into the match on the back of an impressive European victory. If the visitors maintain their current level of intensity, they have a strong chance of capitalising on the hosts’ crisis and taking points away from Old Trafford once again.

Andoni Iraola’s side are still waiting for their first home Premier League win under the new manager, having drawn twice and lost once at Anfield. Manchester United's start to the Premier League season has fallen well below expectations. After seven rounds, Carrick's team sit 13th with only seven points, having recorded just one victory. Their last five league matches have produced four draws and one defeat, with the latest domestic result a 1-1 draw away to Leeds.

Any cautious optimism from that performance disappeared in midweek. United were dismantled 4-1 by Como in the Champions League, extending their winless sequence in all competitions to seven games. More worrying than the scoreline was the manner of the defeat: United struggled to press effectively, looked vulnerable when losing possession and rarely showed the intensity expected from a team under pressure.

Carrick is now facing the biggest test of his tenure. Reports around the club claim that another failure against Bournemouth could lead the hierarchy to consider a managerial change. No official decision has been announced, but the pressure is impossible to ignore.

There are still individual players capable of changing the mood quickly. Bryan Mbeumo has scored four Premier League goals this season, while Bruno Fernandes has three and remains United's main source of creativity. At Old Trafford, against a direct rival from the bottom half of the table, they have to take much greater responsibility.

Personnel problems remain significant. Benjamin Sesko, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw and Manuel Ugarte are expected to miss the match, while Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford remain doubts. Matthijs de Ligt is available again, giving Carrick another option in a defensive line that badly needs stability.

Bournemouth arrive in Manchester only one point behind United. Marco Rose's team are 15th with six points from seven rounds, so their start has hardly been convincing either.

However, the Cherries finally earned their first Premier League victory of the season in the previous round, beating Sunderland 2-0. Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring before Evanilson added the second, and Tavernier has now become Bournemouth's most productive attacking player with four league goals.

That result was important, but Bournemouth's away performances remain a concern. Their recent 5-1 defeat at Chelsea showed how quickly Rose's side can lose control when an opponent raises the tempo and forces turnovers in dangerous areas. Across seven league matches, Bournemouth have scored nine goals and conceded 13.

The visitors also have selection issues. Alex Scott and Julian Araujo are ruled out, while Eli Junior Kroupi has returned to team training but may only be ready for limited minutes.

One of the biggest concerns is the defensive injury crisis. Isak Hien, Odilon Kossounou, Giorgio Scalvini and Sead Kolašinac are all unavailable, leaving Sarri with extremely limited options in central defense. Giacomo Raspadori, Franck Kessié and Kamaldeen Sulemana are also among the absentees.

Nevertheless, Atalanta still possess substantial attacking quality. Charles De Ketelaere remains an important creative influence, while Nikola Krstović provides a physical presence in the penalty area. Jonathan Rowe and Eljif Elmas add mobility and unpredictability behind the striker.

The hosts must improve their defensive concentration, but their technical superiority in attacking positions gives them a realistic opportunity to get back on track.

Few expected Frosinone to enjoy such an impressive return to Serie A. Under Massimiliano Alvini, the visitors have registered four victories, one draw and two defeats in their opening seven matches, collecting 13 points and climbing to sixth place.

However, their adventurous approach comes with risks. Frosinone have conceded nine goals, while opponents have attempted 137 shots against them — the second-highest figure in the league. In terms of personnel, Florian Grillitsch remains unavailable. Gabriele Calvani has recovered from his recent muscular problem and is competing for a starting place, while Ilario Monterisi has experienced fitness concerns.

However, the visitors' attacking ambition also leaves considerable space for opponents to exploit. Their high number of shots conceded is particularly concerning against a team featuring De Ketelaere, Rowe and Krstović.

Atalanta's impressive home record against Frosinone provides additional encouragement, although their current defensive problems make another clean sheet far from certain. Sarri's side should nevertheless be able to impose themselves for extended periods, create opportunities through their attacking midfielders and capitalize on the visitors' defensive weaknesses.

Frosinone are capable of scoring, but Atalanta's greater individual quality and home advantage should be enough to secure a much-needed victory in what could become an entertaining contest.

Genoa have made a difficult start to the current campaign and sit just 17th in the table after seven matches, with a modest four points to their name. The Genoese side have struggled badly in the attacking phase, creating few clear-cut chances and regularly making positional errors inside their own penalty area when put under pressure. Nevertheless, the Luigi Ferraris factor traditionally serves as a powerful source of motivation for the team, and the hosts will take to the pitch with one goal in mind — to claim the precious three points in front of their loyal supporters.

That said, Udinese should not be written off completely. Lyon have continued to pick up points even after falling behind in matches, already earning four points from losing positions. However, Lyon suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Hoffenheim in the Europa League in midweek, bringing their impressive run to an end. The visitors will be without the suspended Kaito Nakamura in Paris, while Mohamed Ouédraogo and Nicolás Tagliafico could miss the match through injury. Despite this, Lyon are capable of putting up a fight thanks to their solid balance and confident league performances.

Their start to the season has been fairly promising, despite Lyon failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after losing in the qualifying rounds. Luis García’s side have picked up just one point from their last three matches, although this run cannot be described as a full-blown crisis. Sevilla lost 1-3 to Barcelona and 1-4 to Real Madrid, while in between those games they drew 3-3 away to Levante in a demanding fixture, despite taking the lead twice. At the same time, their defense is a genuine concern: the high number of goals conceded is beginning to look like a systemic problem.

One positive is the return of several players. Isaac Romero has served his suspension, while Jon Guridi and Lucas Stassin are close to returning to full team training, although neither is expected to start. In addition, Sevilla have the best bench in La Liga: five different players have already scored after coming on as substitutes, collectively contributing six goals and eight of the team’s 14 points.

Jagoba Arrasate’s return has had an immediate impact. In his first match back, Osasuna ended a five-game winless run and comfortably beat Racing 2-0. The 3.38 to 0.29 expected-goals differential only underlines how convincing the team looked, while characteristic features of Arrasate’s football have already emerged — high pressing, aggression and more vertical attacks.

The main downside is their away form. Ranchers Bees will come into this match looking to bounce back after a 3-1 defeat to Shooting Stars in their previous league outing. The newly promoted side sits 19th with 8 points from 9 games and has struggled to turn draws into wins.

Doma United will travel after playing out a 1-1 draw against Kun Khalifat FC. They remain in the top half in 8th place with 14 points from 9 games, having won 4 games this season. They will look to capitalise on the hosts' defensive issues.

Athletic approach this fixture following a disappointing 3-1 defeat away to Levante on October 21. The result demonstrated the resilience that Bordalás demands from his players, but Djené's suspension creates an additional problem in defence. Christantus Uche is also out with a long-term knee injury, while Zaid Romero's fitness remains a concern.

Getafe's biggest weakness, however, has been their performances away from home. They have lost all four of their away league matches this season, scoring no goals and conceding eight. Their attacking production has been particularly disappointing, with the team averaging fewer than one goal per league game.

Bordalás is unlikely to abandon his familiar approach at San Mamés. Getafe should defend in a compact shape, contest second balls aggressively and look for opportunities through set pieces and direct attacks. Satriano and Enes Ünal offer options up front, but the visitors have not yet demonstrated that they can consistently create chances on the road.

The Florence club have experienced enormous problems organizing their defense, conceding 17 goals in seven rounds — the worst record in the league. In the previous matchday, the team suffered a painful 1-3 home defeat to Como, and ahead of their trip to Milan, the visitors’ coaching staff face a huge task in restoring discipline and containing the hosts’ formidable attack.

The tactical script of the upcoming encounter will be dictated entirely by Inter’s total dominance. From the opening minutes, the hosts will take control of possession, raise the tempo and apply intense positional pressure. They will methodically destabilize the vulnerable opposition defense through the active involvement of their wing-backs and quick combination play in the half-spaces. Christian Chivu’s side have dropped just two points in seven Serie A matches and remain in the title race. In the previous round, Inter defeated Bologna 3-1, marking the fourth time this season they have come from behind to win. During the week, the Nerazzurri also finally picked up their first Champions League points, edging Shakhtar 1-0 despite Alessandro Bastoni’s red card.

The main concern ahead of the match is the absence of Lautaro Martinez, who will be out until the international break. They have collected 22 points from nine rounds and sit second in the league table. They are five points behind leaders Barcelona and one point ahead of Real Madrid. In the UEFA Champions League, the Madrid side have recorded one win, one draw and one defeat.

Deportivo have returned to Spain's top flight. Last season, the team finished second in the league, collecting 77 points from 42 matches. This was enough to secure promotion to La Liga. They are clearly aiming to stay in the top division, and their start to the season was fairly promising. The team went unbeaten in their first five rounds, winning two matches. However, their form has since declined. They have recorded a few more draws and suffered two defeats. Despite this, they currently sit ninth with 11 points after nine rounds. They are four points clear of the relegation zone, so they cannot afford to relax, with a challenging battle ahead.

Lens have already experienced plenty of turbulence this season. Dino Toppmöller left the club in September and Yannick Cahuzac, initially promoted from the assistant's role, is now the first-team head coach. Under him, the Sang et Or have shown more stability domestically and entered this round with three wins, one draw and three defeats from seven Ligue 1 matches.

The visitors are not at full strength. Nhoa Sangui has been sidelined with a muscular problem, while Jonathan Ikoné has been dealing with a thigh injury. Moses Simon, however, was back among the available options against Rennes and came off the bench in the second half.
