Buffalo Sabres vs. Montreal Canadiens: Match Preview
Buffalo has been inconsistent this season. In their first six games, they lost five times. Then they won three in a row, followed by another three losses, and now they’re back on a three-game winning streak. In their last game, the Sabres beat the Calgary Flames 3-2 in overtime. As a result, Buffalo is now on the playoff bubble, with 15 points from 15 games, slightly behind the Tampa Bay Lightning, who hold the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.
Montreal started the season strong, winning two of their first three games. However, their performance has since deteriorated. They’ve lost four, won two, and are now on a six-game losing streak, during which they’ve conceded 29 goals. In their last seven games, the Habs have allowed an average of three goals per game. Additionally, Montreal has the worst defense in the league, allowing 62 goals in 15 games. As a result, the Canadiens sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
Prediction
Montreal is currently in very poor form, with significant defensive issues, which won’t help against Buffalo. While the Sabres have also been inconsistent, they are in notably better shape than the Canadiens. My bet is on a Buffalo win, with odds of 1.82.
