On Sunday, August 4th, the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will host a friendly El Clasico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Dailysports team of analysts has prepared predictions and bets for this match.
Barcelona
Barcelona finished last season without any trophies. The Catalans ended up second in La Liga, lost to PSG in the Champions League quarterfinals, and were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Athletic Bilbao (2-4) in the quarterfinals. As a result, head coach Xavi lost his job, and former Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick was appointed in his place. Despite many rumors, Barcelona has not yet bought any players this summer.
In the USA, Barcelona has so far played only one match. With a completely experimental squad, as most of the team's leaders are still on vacation, Barcelona managed a 2-2 draw against Manchester City and then won the penalty shootout. In that match, 22-year-old forward Pau Victor and Pablo Torre, who returned from a loan spell at Girona, scored for Flick's team. Before that, Barcelona also defeated fourth division side Olot 1-0.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid are the reigning champions of Spain and winners of the Champions League last season. Carlo Ancelotti's team had an incredible season and is preparing to repeat their achievements. This summer, Real Madrid made the biggest transfer of the year by signing Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer. Additionally, the attack was strengthened by the super-talented Brazilian forward Endrick.
During their tour in the USA, Real Madrid has also played only one match so far, but not as successfully as Barcelona – they lost 0-1 to AC Milan, with Samuel Chukwueze scoring. Before flying to the USA, Real also played a friendly match against Segunda Division side Albacete, winning 3-0.
