Jose Riveiro has stepped down as head coach of Orlando Pirates and may soon take the helm at one of Africa's top clubs—Al Ahly. The Spanish manager reportedly intends to bring along a player he has previously worked with.

Details: According to Ahly News, Riveiro wants to see Orlando Pirates star Mbekezeli Mbokazi at Al Ahly. The Spanish coach is determined to bolster the defensive line, and he views Mbokazi as a key asset. Riveiro has already informed Al Ahly's management that he is counting on the South African as a starting XI player.

The club is also attracted by the fact that Mbokazi is only 19 years old. Due to his age, he can be registered as a youth player, which won't affect Al Ahly's foreign player quota.

Earlier reports stated that Al Ahly is prepared to make Riveiro the highest-paid manager on the African continent.

Reminder: Another of Jose Riveiro's former protégés could also move to Cairo with him—winger Monnapule Saleng, according to earlier reports.
