The qualification for the World Cup 2026 has started in Africa. The first results

On November 15, the first matches of the group stage of the World Cup 2026 qualifying tournament in Africa were played.

Ethiopia and Sierra Leone played to a 0-0 draw.
Group B
DR Congo defeated Mauritania with a score of 2:0.
Group C
Rwanda and Zimbabwe tied 0-0.
Group H
Equatorial Guinea defeated Namibia 1:0.
Eight more matches in the African qualifiers are due to take place on November 16.
It should be noted that as part of the qualification for the world championship in Africa, the teams were divided into nine groups. The group winners will receive tickets to the final part of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Also, four teams that take second place in their groups will have a chance to travel to the World Cup. An additional round will be held for them to qualify for the intercontinental playoffs.
