Another boost for Carrick! Manchester United snaps up Brighton's key player

Manchester United is on the verge of sealing yet another high-profile signing in the current transfer window.

Details: According to Topskills UK Sports, Manchester United’s management has reached a fundamental agreement with Brighton for the transfer of 26-year-old versatile Turkish defender Ferdi Kadioglu. The fixed transfer fee stands at £40 million, but with various performance-related bonuses, the total deal could rise to £50 million.

As part of the transfer agreement, the player’s former club, Turkish side Fenerbahce, will receive 10% of the transfer sum from Brighton, amounting to approximately €5 million.

Personal terms with Kadioglu have been fully agreed. The defender will soon travel to the Carrington training complex for a comprehensive medical examination. The contract will be valid for five years—until June 2031—with an option to extend for another season (until summer 2032). An official announcement of the transfer is expected in the very near future.

It’s worth noting that in the 2025/26 season, the Turkish defender made 38 appearances for Brighton across all competitions, netted 2 goals, provided 3 assists, and was named the Seagulls’ Player of the Year. According to the reputable portal Transfermarkt, the player’s market value is €35 million.
