The first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major Championship in 2024 and the twentieth Counter-Strike Major in general will take place in Copenhagen from 17 to 31 March.

During the quarter-final match between the teams MOUZ and G2 Esports, a very unexpected and shocking event occurred. Several unknown individuals rushed onto the stage where the teams were playing. According to journalists, they intended to attack the players, and two individuals have already been arrested.

The match between the teams had to be halted, and the pause lasted for half an hour.

At the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 tournament, twenty-four teams will compete in regional qualifying tournaments with a prize pool of $1,250,000 USD.

This is the fourth major event in Counter-Strike organized by PGL, following PGL Major: Kraków 2017, PGL Major Stockholm 2021, and PGL Major Antwerp 2022. The reigning Major champions are Team Vitality, who won their first championship at Blast Paris Major 2023.
