The name of the favourite to become Bayern's head coach has been revealed

Bayern Munich, who had a disappointing season in the Bundesliga, continues its search for a head coach for the next season. They have finally identified their preferred option.

According to journalist Sport Bild Toby Altschäffl, the favorite to replace Thomas Tuchel is the current head coach of the German national team, Julian Nagelsmann. If Bayern Munich cannot reach an agreement with him, alternative options include Roberto De Zerbi and Ralf Rangnick.

Interestingly, in the spring of last year, Bayern Munich unexpectedly dismissed Nagelsmann despite a confident quarter-final appearance in the Champions League and a strong fight for the Bundesliga title. However, the managers who made that decision are no longer with Bayern, and the German press believes that the new leadership can convince Nagelsmann to return.

Nagelsmann's contract with the German Football Association runs until the end of the 2024 World Cup at home.

In addition to Bayern Munich and the German national team, Nagelsmann has also coached RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim.

As a reminder, after 28 rounds in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich is 16 points behind Bayer Leverkusen. If Leverkusen win against Werder Bremen on Sunday, they will become German champions for the first time in history. In the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, Bayern Munich drew 2-2 against Arsenal.
