On Sunday, May 19th, Jürgen Klopp will coach his final match as the head coach of Liverpool. On January 26, 2024, Klopp announced that he would step down as head coach after the completion of the 2023/24 season.

He also stated that he would take a break from football activities, explaining that he was "running out of energy" and that he “cannot do this job again and again.” According to Jürgen Klopp, the week leading up to his final match has been very difficult. There have been many farewells as he has worked with wonderful people.

"There are so many people and wonderful moments here, so we don't need to pretend that this is a normal week, because it's not. Yesterday we had a barbecue with the players, the day before with the staff. There were so many of them, and of course, I had a very emotional moment," Klopp said.

Additionally, the German coach took a photo with all the staff members of Liverpool Football Club.

Moreover, during the pre-match press conference, he was presented with a collage featuring photos of the most emotional moments.

The Premier League prepared a video recalling all his moments during his time at Liverpool.

"Saying goodbye is always unpleasant, but saying goodbye without feeling sadness or pain means that the time spent together was not wonderful... and we had a wonderful time," added Jürgen Klopp at the press conference.

Liverpool will play their 38th Premier League match against Wolverhampton. The game will take place on Sunday, May 19th, and kick-off at 17:00 Central European Time.
