George Kambosos is close to finalizing negotiations with Vasyl Lomachenko

George Kambosos is in the final stages of negotiations for a bout against Vasyl Lomachenko, as reported by The Ring.

Overall, the IBO lightweight champion shared his thoughts on a potential fight with the former world champion in three divisions.

"It's exciting that my big fight with Lomachenko is generating such significant interest. We are close to finalizing negotiations on the venue. Perth is the leading contender to host the match, but Sydney and Adelaide are showing great interest and may make a bid to secure the fight," said Kambosos.

He is confident that regardless of the fight's location, it will draw a massive crowd. George believes it will be an excellent match between two warriors.

It's worth noting that promoters are exploring options for the fight both in Australia and beyond. Arenas in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and the USA have expressed interest. The leading contender for the venue is currently the RAC Arena in Perth, which accommodates 15 thousand spectators.

The bout is expected to take place in April. An official announcement about its confirmation will be made only after the IBF decides to vacate the title, expected to happen on December 9 when the current champion Devin Haney faces Regis Prograis in another weight category.
