Former coach of the Swedish national team, Janne Andersson, has announced his departure from the position of head coach after failing to lead the national team to the Euro 2024 final.

The next coach of the Swedish national team does not necessarily have to be Swedish or work in Sweden.

The Swedish Football Association (SvFF) has already been in talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Blackburn Rovers coach Jon-Dale Tomasson, as reported by Fotbollskanalen.

Solskjaer himself has admitted to rejecting numerous offers but is now eager to return to work. The Manchester United legend has been without a job since terminating his contract with the Red Devils in November 2021. Speaking to The Athletic, Ole Gunnar stated:

"Yes, I've had offers. Very recently two from Saudi Arabia. My best friend, who is also my agent, is negotiating. If you've been the manager of Manchester United, you might have your own requirements for who you want to work with."

SvFF is financially unable to match the salary that the Norwegian specialist received at Manchester United or the offers from other clubs that have shown interest. Therefore, it remains a distant prospect for the association. Recently, he was linked to the Turkish club Besiktas, but Solskjaer is familiar with Scandinavian football, having spent six years as the head coach of Norwegian Molde, with whom he won the championship twice.
