At the upcoming FIFA Congress in Bangkok, the issue of suspending Israel from competitions under the organization's auspices will be brought to discussion.

The initiators of the vote are the Palestinian Football Association (PFA), motivated by Israel's actions towards Palestine following the Hamas attack on October 17.

“How much more must the Palestinian football family suffer before FIFA acts with the same seriousness and urgency as in other cases?” stated PFA President Jibril Rajoub.

The resolution by the PFA is supported by the football federations of Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Yemen.

“We are facing a cynical political and hostile attempt by the Palestinian association to harm Israeli football,” commented the President of the Israel Football Association, Shino Moshe Zuaretz.

It should be noted that the Israeli national team is part of UEFA. In the European Championship qualifiers, they reached the playoffs but lost to Iceland in the semi-finals.
