Croatian footballer Nikola Kalinić has signed a contract with Hajduk and will receive the minimum wage, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

According to sources, the player's salary is one euro. The agreement is valid for five months. Kalinić began his career with Hajduk and is now returning to his team, aiming to help them win the championship.

After Hajduk, Nikola Kalinić moved to Blackburn Rovers. In 2011, he joined Dnipro in Ukraine. Later, the striker moved to Serie A in Italy, playing for Fiorentina, Milan, Roma, and Verona. In 2018, Nikola became a player for Atletico Madrid, but he couldn't secure a permanent place in the club and returned to the football fields of Italy.

In 2022, Kalinić returned to his hometown club Hajduk, and in the summer of 2023, he temporarily suspended his football career. During his career, the Croatian striker, together with Atletico Madrid, won the UEFA Super Cup in 2018 and secured victory in the Croatian Cup in consecutive years (2022 and 2023).
