In Saudi Arabia, a new snooker tournament will be held, dubbed as the "fourth major," as reported by The Sun.

It has been revealed that this tournament will boast a prize pool of two million euros. The inaugural event, the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters featuring 128 players, is scheduled to take place in Riyadh from August 31st to September 7th. The World Snooker Tour aims to promote it as the fourth most significant tournament after the World Championship, UK Championship, and the Masters.

Only the prize fund at Crucible is larger than the one offered by Middle Eastern organizers. This is aside from the invitation-only event for eight players, set to take place next month. There, an intriguing and controversial 20-point Golden Ball will be introduced, allowing players to set a world record - 167 breaks.

Recall that also in Saudi Arabia should be held the main boxing fights of 2024: Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou & Tyson Fury vs Alexander Usyk.
