In the highly anticipated match between world number one Iga Świątek and world number three Coco Gauff, the first finalist of the WTA1000 clay court tournament in Rome was determined.

The Polish tennis player triumphed in two sets – 6:4, 6:3.

The match was quite spectacular, with the first set lasting 59 minutes. Initially, Gauff managed to take a 0:2 lead, but Świątek quickly recovered, breaking back, and then capitalizing on a break point in the ninth game. In the second set, Świątek did not concede a single game on her serve to Gauff.

In the final, the world number one will face the winner of the match between Aryna Sabalenka and Danielle Collins, which begins today at 20:40 Central European Time.
